The S/P2 Courses
S/P2 - Safety and Pollution Prevention

The S/P2 Training courses cover Safety and Pollution
Prevention (S/P2) issues that are important to everybody
in an automotive operation.

In fact, the LAW states that companies are responsible
for not only maintaining compliance at the shop, but
also for making sure all employees are trained in
the hazards they face at the shop before
working in a shop. For more information on this, see
OSHA
29CFR 1910.1200(h)(1) and The
OSHA Act of 1970. In many cases, this is simply
not done, which is a major violation.
The law also requires ANNUAL training to make sure employees are up to date on changing compliance regulations. For more information on this, see OSHA 29CFR 1910.120(e)(8).
The S/P2 courses are designed specifically for each industry segment (collision and paint, mechanical, etc.). These courses are not generic! They deal precisely with the majority of problems you run into every day.

The S/P2 courses are specific to each industry segment.
Reasons to use S/P2:
- Keep students and employees safe
- Develop safety knowledge for all personnel
- Prevent pollution and handle wastes correctly
- Reduce days lost due to injuries or safety-related issues
- Reduce waste handling costs and time
- Comply with federal and state regulations
- Avoid regulatory fines
Online Training - Good For One Year
S/P2 provides all online training courses via the Internet. All courses are updated as new rules, regulations, and practices become available.
Because rules and regulations change often, each certificate is good for one year at which time, each employee or student should train again to be up to date on the most current rules, regulations, and best practices.
The Top 10 Issues in Laymans Terms
The S/P2 materials are written in so everyone can understand them and cover only the information that is important to your business. The information is taken directly from federal and state rules and regulations and written so everyone can understand and apply it.
State regulations may be stricter than the federal regulations. That is why S/P2 provides your state's specific requirements in each module if the state regulations are different from the federal.
We cover the top safety and P2 compliance issues for your segment of the automotive industry. This covers 90% or more of the problems faced. This will help your school or company reduce injuries, prevent violations, and minimize waste.
Learning the material and passing the courses is not difficult, but you and your students or employees must be committed to study. You cannot just guess, and expect to pass the test.
Passing the Course and Receiving Your Certificate
Upon passing the courses, each person will be awarded a personal "Certificate of Completion." The certificate will be awarded online, and it should be printed out and displayed or placed in that person's employment file. Every employee (or student) must be trained BEFORE they start their job and annually thereafter!

Study hard and earn your S/P2 certificates.
Upon completion, you can and should market your success and your facility's commitment. Your customers and community should know that your organization cares about preventing pollution, protecting the environment, and keeping people safe.

Voluntary Compliance

We can all do our part to improve
the world around us.
CCAR wants each automotive business to voluntarily comply to environmental and safety regulations. The problem is, not everybody knows what to do to be compliant, and just because one person in a company is knowledgable, doesn't mean anyone else knows enough to help. Remember:
People prevent injuries and pollution if they know how!
Benefits: Profitability, Pride, and Long Careers
Compliance can save schools and businesses money by:
- Preventing illnesses, injuries, and time off
- Preventing dangerous situations that could lead to fires or explosions
- Reduction of waste handling costs through less waste generation
- Reduction of insurance costs through all of the above
By becoming compliant, you can also prevent or reduce fines from the EPA and OSHA. This can be a huge cost that is rarely anticipated by schools or companies. Schools have the same liability issues that businesses do. Huge fines have been assessed on automotive businesses over the years that could have been avoided had they only had the right training system.

Avoid fines by being voluntarily compliant.
In addition to monetary savings, research shows that the employees of safety-conscious and environmentally-conscious automotive shops have more pride in the their work place and appreciate the commitment to safer, cleaner working conditions. Employee migration is lower in shops that strive to comply. Employees can see your commitment to the environment, the community, and their well-being.
Be selfish! Keep your money and your employees by showing you are compliant and care!
